I think fall might be my favorite time to decorate for – maybe even more than Christmas, I don’t know! I love this shift in season to cozy time, and making spots in the house seem lived in and comfortable. I love fall decor!

I’ve always liked to do a mix of budget friendly with some higher end pieces thrown in. The last thing I want is my home to feel like is a showpiece and not somewhere we live, work, and play. I look for cozy neutral colors with small pops of color. I love to add in wood/metal elements in different areas to mix and match textures. I like to think of my decorating style as a coastal farmhouse sort of feel.

I’ve been on the hunt for some fresh pieces to add to my decor this year and wanted to share a few finds for two partidular areas: the dining room and mudroom/entryway. Let me know what you think in the comments!

Splurge: Tabletop

Personally, I love mixing blues and oranges in Autumn.  I think it elevates the coastal look I love in a subtle way.  I love the idea of matching these wood chargers with white plates on a blue placement – and while I love the eucalyptus colored napkin, the orange napkin would be the perfect pop of color.  The black stone napkin rings are GORGEOUS.  I have such a strange love for napkin rings – I think they can really set off a table. These simple charcoal stone rings will compliment the wood and white without overpowering. This is a table setting you coul use from September all the way to Thanksgiving with it’s subtle woodsy elements that are warm and inviting!

At my house we have an enclosed front porch, and I absolutely love it. It’s my favorite spot to sit and read or drink coffee in the morning. We have a very coastal vibe out there, and when decorating for the seasons I like to keep that in mind and not go too over the top with seasonal colors. In fall, I love just a subtle hint of orange and stick more to neutrals. I found these throw pillow coverings on Amazon and love them! They are the perfect hint of fall I was looking for. The wreath is a great compliment without being overbearing. I especially love layering textures with this entry rug and then centering a welcome mat on top of it.
